I‘ve always been a person that empowered others in their own growth and understanding. As a little girl all my stuffed animals were lined up to be taught or to receive some sort of important message. My name is Coach Julio and I am a Steel Mace Flow Level 2 coach. As a competitive athlete my whole life and a coach for over 17 years my body started to slow and seemingly weaken as time started to do what it does best to a stagnant body. My knowledge in fitness was limited to conventional fitness which was geared more toward competitive performance or achieving a bodily aesthetic that was appealing externally yet left me functionally limited within my day to day. I spent years feeling disconnected from my body and knew that this was not a sustainable way to keep me mobile in the long term. I was burnt out, constantly in discomfort, and looking for a solution. That’s when I discovered the steel mace and its multiple modalities and forms. Steel Mace Flow is an unconventional functional movement system that utilizes the steel mace. In ancient times the mace was known as a gada.
